Nicki Minaj Goes Orange

Queen of the rap scene right now, Ms. Nicki Minaj, was out performing in Miami this past Memorial Day weekend for "The Best Of The Best" concert rocking a new orange wig. I don't know about you guys but Nicki could pretty much rock any color in her hair and she would still look flawless. Check out some more photos from the event below:

I'm sorry yall but I'm gonna always have to represent my peoples from Queens!!

Behind The Scenes: All I Do Is Win (Remix)

DJ Khaled has been working on his video for "All I Do Is Win" remix. The remix features the likes of Busta Rhymes, Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, Fat Joe, Jadakiss and Swizz Beats! Busta kills his verse (like he always does), so enjoy some more photos from behind the scenes at the video shoot and more below:

I don't see Busta or Jada in any of the photos so I'm hoping they make their presence felt in the video. And for those of you who are not familiar with the remix, check it out below:

Does Mario Have A New Chick Already?

Photos courtesy of Fast Life Fast Money

I don't know how true this rumor is but as I said before and I will always say again, I just report what I'm told. I don't make this shit up! Apparently, Mario was performing out in Miami this weekend at club "Dream" and was spotted with a woman who is not DEZ! Mario has been making headlines lately because of his new found relationship with Amber Rose's right hand woman, Dez. As if that wasn't cause for the gossip to start, Dez is also rumored to have been wifey to Mario's manager too!! Talk about too close for comfort! Anywho, take a look at some of the photos I was sent below:

I don't know if I should put too much into this rumor because a rumor is just that....A RUMOR but the pictures are not all that revealing. It's not like he was rubbing all over these ladies. Mario just looks like he was having a good time and last I checked, there ain't nothing wrong with having a good time!

What do you think?

Swizz Is A Good Man

I don't care what anyone has to say about Swizzy and what they think he did to Mashonda. I can respect a man for keeping it truthful, amicable and respectful. Despite all of the turmoil Mashonda was putting Swizz through, he came up out those pockets and gave Mashonda what she was asking for. Not only did Swizzy give Mashonda $700,000 which was more than what the judge was asking for and was also against legal counsel, he gave Mashonda the extra $334,000 she was complaining he didn't give her!!! Now that's what I call a guy who wants to end things and quickly!

I'm only left to assume that Mashonda was either looking for a fight or wanted Swizzy to put up a battle for that extra dough. Nevertheless, instead of argue with the sista, he forked it over and wants to keep it pushing with his new life with Alicia! The new couple is expecting a baby in about 6 months and should be tying the knot by the end of the year! Now that's what I call moving on!!!

The Black Urban Times

Union County Prosecutor Theodore Romankow told WCBS that an arrest has been made in connection to the double homicide that took place in Elizabeth Saturday morning.

Armando Perez, 24, of Elizabeth was arrested at a home in Roselle, without incident early Sunday. Perez has been charged with several weapons offenses and two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of Luis Mesa and Daniel Torres on Saturday.

In a statement released the morning of the murders, Romankow said that police arrived to the Mini Mall in response to a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found Mesa, 30, and Torres, 27, lying the parking lot of the bar suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The melee broke out at El Buen Gusto bar located in the Elizabeth Mini Mall on Elizabeth Avenue, near 6th Street around 4 a.m. Several patrons involved in the fight were transported to local hospitals after suffering minor injuries, unrelated to gunshot wounds.

False 'Kidnapping' Sparked Virginia Amber Alert

The Black Urban Times

Disturbing video surveillance sparked an amber alert after police thought they saw what appeared to be a kidnapping in progress in front of a Stafford, Virginia Target store.

It had all the appearances of a kidnapping: A dark van pulls up to the front of the Target with it's side door ajar. A teenage girl appears. A woman is walking behind her, then suddenly the driver jumps out of the van and goes after the girl.

The "victim" appears to be fighting off her "abductor" and witnesses said the girl was "screaming and kicking" before she is forced into the van by three people, CBSnews.com reported.

Additional footage from a separate security camera showed the alleged victim talking with one of the "abductors" before the van pulled up.

After reviewing the video footage, police jumped into action and began searching for the five "suspects" as well as the "victim" in the video.

It turns out, the van, with it's Rhode Island tags, belonged to the teenage girls family. The scene unfolded because the girl was upset about her family moving to Florida.

What Hath Technology Wrought: Eliminating a Facebook Frenemy

What hath technology wrought?

Nothing is worse than having added a friend or frenemy to your facebook page who makes you cringe like nails against a chalkboard.

You know who I'm talking about, that one (or three) person who is either posting embarrassing or inappropriate trash or just seems to stir up a bunch of mess within any and every post.

Maybe it's a relative or that friend with turret syndrome trait and you feel bad deleting them from your friend's list.

Well, cringe no more, I have found a way to tune out their non-sense without hurting their feelings. Follow this simple how-to in order to rid your Facebook of that human irritant.

1. Login to your Facebook account.

2.
Go to the left side of the page and click NEWSFEED

3.
Scroll your mouse across the posting of the pest...I mean person whose rants...I mean postings you want to hide.

4.
On the right side of their newsfeed.....full article here

10 Steps to a Drama Free Facebook Experience

Featured Contributor

Step 1.
Beware of what you CC, BCC, REPLY ALL and FORWARD tab. Think long and hard before hitting the SEND key. What you send, in this technology age, cannot be undone. This includes forwarding chain letters, jokes, etc.

Step 2.
Just as the rule for dialing-while-drunk is in effect after break-ups and dust-ups, do not surf the Net drunk or under the influence of drugs or your emotions. Anything you post on Facebook or SMS (Short Message Service, a.k.a. "texting") leaves a trail of breadcrumbs that will always lead right back to you and if what you posted is untrue, half of the truth, manipulative or ambiguous in any way, you will eventually come to regret it.
It's embarrassing when you clown yourself or others, period. But when you clown yourself for millions of others to see, that's just sad. What you may think is funny, momentarily hurtful or may put you in a glorious light at the moment you hit that post button, may end of being the bane of your existence the next day, and the day after.

Step 3.
Dumping your significant other via the Internet (facebook, digg, reddit, etc) is just childish and cruel. If you aren’t able to sever the ties that bind in person, do it via private email. Putting on a silver screen production for your facebook friends (and theirs) and family only shows how nasty and foul one can really be. Again, clowning yourself is a class "A" felony punishable by a lifetime of embarrassment and bad karma.

Step 4.
Facebook isn't a popularity contest. I've seen people with 997 "friends" and wonder how many of those people that individual actually knows. Also, I've found that people with a consummate number of "friends" are usually the ones who have a lot of complaints about Spam, facebook stalkers, etc.
They never really know who the culprit is for it could be any one of the 997 "friends." All that number tells me is that you collect people and have no care for whom you're sharing your personal day-to-day doings, photos and info with. I am not speaking of people who use facebook as a business tool and only post business related info.

Step 5.
Posting or update overload. I know too many people guilty of this. I'm not talking about words of wisdom or sharing a good link, story or photo or a funny anecdote about your day, life. I'm talking about those people that are telling use when, where and how often they use the bathroom; when they sleep with their spouses -- where they're doing and in what positions; what they cooked and how they digested it; how messed up their co-workers and kids are; how much they make and what they spend it on.
Too much of anything is never good and too much information is just overkill. It makes some of us wonder what you're attempting to over compensate for. Post sparingly. Use tact and emotional intelligence. To be suspected of being a dimwit is one thing, to post and remove all doubt is another.

Step 6.
In my humble opinion, Facebook has become less of a networking tool and more a tool of which we use to put our lives on blast - and not always for good and (as I’ve learned) not always the truth, but more what we would like others to think of or about ourselves.
You have couples fighting via facebook posts; people "calling out" others through "subtle," guileful updates and others using the site as weapon to lay misery upon the doorstep of people they don't like, know or understand, all under the guise of "sharing their feelings" with "friends" and family. I dare say, NOT.

Step 7.
Select your friends with caution. If you don't recognize someone or don't know them at all, you don't have to be nasty, just ignore the request or politely ask them how they know you then decide from there if you want to add them. My suggestion is to create separate...Full article here

Fort Dix Soldier Arrested in Gun Trafficking Circle

By Alicia Cruz
The Black Urban Times

Nine people, including a soldier stationed aboard Fort Dix, are charged with gun trafficking.

William James Ivery, 30, of Fort Dix, was accused of unlawfully disposing of two handguns he brought to New Jersey from Texas and mailing a third gun from Texas to two co-defendants in New Jersey.

All three were arrested Wednesday night.

In all, more than 200 guns were seized, including a machine gun and grenade launcher. The arrests were the latest in a crackdown on illegal firearms that began in 2008, when investigators began using the federal e-Trace database, maintained by the ATF, that tracks guns recovered in crimes.

Authorities have charged five people with trafficking guns from Virginia to Trenton and selling the weapons to gang members. A New Jersey man that was indicted was described as having a stockpile of weapons at his home and in his car.

According to the ATF, 75 percent of the guns recovered by New Jersey police last year came from other states, about 16 percent came from Pennsylvania.

Attorney General Paula Dow says several of the guns have been connected to drug and homicide investigations.

A Mother's Fight: The Angel Yulee Adams Story

By Alicia Cruz
The Associated Content

Angel Violet Yulee Adams, 37, of Tampa, Florida is a mother of 15 and describes herself as a protective, loving single mother, who gets by as best she can to feed and clothe her children.

Her mother, Mary Yulee, 72, described her daughter as a "warrior."

From welfare critics to peers to social liberals, the public's perception of Adams ranges from an ungrateful woman with a false sense of entitlement attitude to a mother who is a victim of society trying to live as best she can in hard times, to an arrogant welfare mother who has babies to increase her taxpayer-funded paycheck each month and, "with one hand out, keeps demanding more."

Fellow single mothers, like D'juana Flores of Orlando, a mother of five, says it's single mother's like Adams who make it tough for parents who have children and are in long term relationships that go sour and suddenly find themselves with one less (or no income) income, one less parent and a bevy of new problems as they struggle to work, find appropriate, safe, affordable child care in order to provide for their children. Some do it with little or no help from the state and they say mothers like Adams are making all single mothers look bad.

"I don't think people or social service agencies have a problem with single mothers on a whole," said Flores, 37, "I think they have a problem with the 'I'm a victim because I'm a single mother so everybody owes me something' mentality that some of us seem to have."

"I hate to say it, but it seems like (Adams) thinks (the state) owes her something or that they're the enemy. I mean why go to an agency you don’t trust, especially if you have family and all those fathers to help," said Tyesha Morgan, of Tampa.

Morgan, 26, and the single mother of three boys says she works full-time and her load is a bit lighter thanks to help from family and the father...Full article here

Child Actor, Gary Coleman Dead at 42

The Black Urban Times

Actor Gary Coleman, the child star of 1970s TV sitcom "Diff'rent Strokes," has died at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center of an inter cranial hemorrhage. Coleman was admitted to the hospital Wednesday after falling in his Santaquin home.

Coleman was initially transported to Mountain View Hospital in Payson, Dennis Howard, Santaquin's director of public safety told FoxNews.com. He was later moved to the regional medical center in Provo for additional medical treatment.

Dr. Jennifer Majersik, a stroke specialist and assistant professor of neurology at the University of Utah, told the Associated Press that intra cranial hemorrhages can be broken vessels within the brain itself or next to it.

Majersik, who was not involved in Coleman's treatment and is unfamiliar with his case, said the most serious types involve a broken vessel inside the brain.

Hemorrhaging can also occur on the surface of the brain or in the protective layers between the brain and the skull, Majersik said.

Doctor's placed Coleman on life support after his condition worsened sometime Thursday. Coleman, who suffered ill health throughout his life due to kidney disease, had at least two kidney transplants and underwent dialysis on a regular basis.

Coleman is best known for his role as Arnold on "Diff'rent Strokes." He played the adopted son of a millionaire on the show which aired from 1978 to 1986.

Coleman moved to Utah in 2005 to star in the movie "Church Ball," a comedy based on basketball leagues formed by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was on the set of that movie that he met wife Shannon Price. The two married in 2007.

It will be the first marriage for Grammy Award winner Keys and the second for producer, rapper Dean, who married his first wife in 2004.

Gary Coleman Suffers Critical Injury in Fall at Utah Home

The Black Urban Times

Gary Coleman of Diff'rent Strokes fame was admitted to a Provo, Utah hospital earlier today after falling in his Santaquin, Utah home.

Popeater.com reported that the former child actor's brother-in-law claimed Coleman suffered a head injury in that fall. Coleman is reportedly in critical condition, but no further updates have been given on the actor as of press time.

Utah Valley Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Janet Frank confirmed that Coleman, 42, was admitted to the Provo facility on Wednesday but did not release any other details.

The pint-sized actor suffered two seizures earlier this year, first in January 6, then another in February while he was on the set of 'The Insider.'

Coleman met his wife, Shannon Price, on the movie set of "Church Ball," a comedy based on basketball leagues formed by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and married her in 2007. The two have experienced a few marital woes since their 2007 nuptials that landed the duo on the cover of many gossip tabloids.

In addition to health woes, Coleman's legal troubles led to his arrest in January at his Utah home after he failed to appear in court for a domestic violence warrant. The domestic violence charges were later dropped, and he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal mischief charge. He was ordered to take a domestic violence class and pay a $595 fine.

Coleman is best known for his role as Arnold, the adopted son of a New York City millionaire opposite troubled actor Todd Bridges and the late Dana Plato who placed Coleman's older adopted sister, Kimberly. The sitcom, Diff'rent Strokes," aired from 1978 to 1986.

Prison X: The Taisha "Pretty Thug" Gist Story

This is the 3rd installment of the new web series called "Prison X". This week's tale comes from a young lady by the name of Taisha "Pretty Thug" Gist. In this episode, Pretty Thug talks about the brutal beatings women had to endure at the Albion correctional facility from officers who were extremely racist. Usually the Prison X stories are of someone's own personal experiences but this seems like a story she heard about. It didn't seem like this was something she witnessed for herself although the story alone will make me not want to do anything wrong in life to get put behind bars. I hope you enjoy this new story below:

By the way, I have no idea why they called her Pretty Thug and as I said before we don't ask.

50 Drops More Than 50 for New Movie Role

By Alicia Cruz
The Black Urban Times

If there was ever an actor dedicated to a role, it appears to be rapper/actor 50 cent (nee Curtis James Jackson III). Jackson is set to star in a film he co-developed titled “Things Fall Apart.”

The movie synopsis: Jackson will play a football running back who falls ill with Cancer during his senior year in college and must undergo chemotherapy.

Obviously, Jackson had to lose weight for the role and when he did, it was a quite a change.
When filming began, the actor reportedly weighed 214 pounds. Now he’s weighing in at 160 pounds and the weight loss has altered his appearance drastically.

The pictures below show a very gaunt Jackson with a shaved head, a stark contrast from his usual masculine appearance.

Some tweeters commented that Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jackson, with his new temporary look, could be twins, referring to Combs’ role in the 2001 film “Monsters Ball” where he played an inmate on death row.

Thinking back to the film and that scene where Combs, head shaven, is looking at Letttica (Halle Berry), we had to agree there was quite a similarity.

Jackson allegedly lost all that weight on a total liquid diet that spanned nine weeks. He also trekked on a treadmill for three hours a day.

“I was starving,” Jackson told Us Weekly during a recent interview. “I’ve been eating. I’ll be back in shape in no time.”

Jackson wrote the film; Mario Van Peebles is directing and starring in the film along with Lynn Whitfield, Mike P and Steve Eastin. Word is the film began production last month, but no release date has been given.
