Now this is what I'm talking about!! Jeezy is on the cover of the April/May issue of VIBE magazine. Earlier in the week, the internet was going crazy over Trey Songz' VIBE cover but we now have an official Jeezy cover.

According to Rap Radar, this cover of Jeezy wasn't even authorized to be out yet....so I'm thinking someone is in trouble right now. Well, since it's their ass and not mine, enjoy more Jeezy photos below:

Is there some type of symbolism going on with the whole tie burning thing? I'm just saying!

And if you have been stuck under a rock this whole time and didn't see the Trey Songz cover, check it out below:

The Black Urban Times

The Plainfield Police Department's Narcotics Bureau raided the 800 block of West Third Street arresting three men and seizing drugs and cash.

The raid, led by Detective Ron Fusco, preceded resident complaints about increasing drug activity and violence in the neighborhood.

Kevin Mack, 42, Alonzo Roach, 38 and Dante Anderson 32, all of Plainfield were arrested during the Friday evening raid which netted police five grams of crack cocaine, $120 in cash and 165 packets of Heroin. The drugs were valued at $1,860 total.

Roach and Anderson were served with summonses and released. Mack was charged with resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

State Department of Corrections records show Mack has an extensive prison record dating back to 1997 when he served seven years in prison on robbery and weapons charges. Then in 2000, he served six-months for a parole violation.

Mack was placed in the Union County Jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond.

New Video: Nicki Minaj - Massive Attack

To set things off right, I'm happy to see both Nicki Minaj and Drake on the cover of XXL's May issue! I think Nicki and Drake are hard working artists and deserve the spotlight. Many people hate and say negative things but life is short and I really don't have time for the drama. You can't tell me there isn't at least one song you like can you? I mean both artists are coming with some serious bangas and their albums aren't even out yet!! Which brings me to Nicki Minaj's new video called "Massive Attack" below:

Can someone please explain to me the concept behind this video? If you are a reader of this site then you know I heart me some Nicki Minaj but what the hell?! The song is not doing anything for me. REAL TALK! Was there a specific need for an Asian Barbie Army? I'm just saying? And what in sams hell was Amber's role? Can anyone tell me? I'm soo lost. Maybe I have to see a gay guy recite this song and maybe just maybe I can get into it......if you don't know what I mean when I say "have to see a gay guy recite it" watch below (around the 2:08 mark) to fully understand:

New Jersey Politicians Oppose Obama's Offshore Drilling Policy

The Black Urban Times

Republican and Democratic figures from New Jersey released statements Wednesday declaiming President Barack Obama's plan to allow offshore drilling along the Eastern Seaboard in an effort to decrease the United States dependency on foreign oil.

Gov. Christie and U.S. Senators Robert Menendez and Frank Lautenberg join organizations such as The Chesapeake Bay Foundation who oppose the President's decision.

In a statement, Governor Christie said New Jersey's coastline "is one of our economic engines" and said he had both economic and environmental safety concerns. The CBF's president, Will Baker said his opposition to the President's decision is out of concern for the blue crab species which could be endangered by oil drilling off the Virginia coast.

The Virginia coast is as much a part of the bay ecosystem as the rivers that feed the Chesapeake. Offshore drilling could endanger crabs, according to Baker, as they float near offshore waters. The crabs cannot escape spills which could destroy a years worth of crab supply thus threatening the livelihoods of fisherman.

Baker told USA Today that Obama's executive order last year calls for a strategy to cut bay pollution and offshore drilling is a new pollution source capable of "devastating damage."

Menendez said the administration should be focused on renewable energy sources and called Obama's plan "fundamentally wrong as an energy policy."

President Obama anticipated large opposition, but pledged that it will be done "in ways that balance the need to harness domestic energy resources and the need to protect America's natural resources."

Will Newark Clear March as First Murder-Free Month in 40 Years?

The Black Urban Times

The clock reads 10:10 p.m. and it looks like Newark just might clear the March calendar as the first murder-free month since May 1966.

The Newark Police Department media relations office told The Black Urban Times that as of 10:00 p.m. Newark was still running murder-free.

Two years ago, Newark experienced a 43-day stretch of murder-free crimes. During the first quarter of 2010, ten people were murdered in Newark. The numbers matched 2009 and were the second lowest since 1941.

Police Director Garry McCarthy says violent crimes are down 14 percent compared to last year and shooting crimes have decreased by 18 percent. McCarthy attributes the low numbers to Newark PD

McCarthy attributed the decreasing numbers to the stance the Newark police department has taken against drug activity in the city.

East African Woman Using False Documents Intercepted at Newark Airport

Black Urban Times Staff Report

Customs agents at the Newark Liberty International Airport intercepted a woman using the passport and visa of a deceased woman from her native country in order to enter into the United States last week.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents were notified by the flight crew that a female passenger was in need of emergency medical assistance. When the agents arrived, they found Norah Kaneza of Burundi, East Africa.
Customs officials did not release the nature of Kaneza's medical emergency.

Kaneza produced a passport and visa with the name Madina Nahimana on it. Agents escorted Kaneza to the medical facility where a fingerprint check was administered revealing her as Norah Kaneza.

Through a Swahili translator, Kaneza admitted she had acquired the passport and visa of the 50-year-old woman from her country after she recently died. Agents did not reveal whether Kaneza stole the documents.

Kaneza, 47, was deported back to Burundi on Saturday. Her illegal entry into the United States carries a five-year ban from re-entry to the U.S.

NJ Dad Convicted of Squandering Sons Money on Escorts, Liquor and Hotels

The Black Urban Times

It took a Somerset County jury three hours Wednesday to find Tubal Eduardo, Sr. guilty of the misappropriation of more than $33,000 of donated money a local PTA collected for the future of his surviving son, Noah after a fire killed the child's mother and two older siblings in 2007.

Assistant Prosecutor Robert Pollock told jurors Eduardo flagrantly disregarded a June 2007 court order issued by Judge Julie Marino stating monies for Noah be placed in a joint guardian account with Eduardo and Debra Jean Walters, Marchie's mother, as co-holders.

The state showed that Eduardo spent virtually all of the $33,000 in 70 days on everything from liquor, expensive hotel rooms to spa treatments and $7,000 for escort services leaving a measly $114.25 for his son's future by the time the courts became aware of what happened.

An itemized list of transactions from the bank account holding Noah's money showed eight transfers and two overdraft protections to the separate account Eduardo opened. Pollock told the court Eduardo used Noah's bank account “as his own personal ATM machine."

Eduardo's attorney, Maureen O'Reilly argued that many of the items Eduardo purchased were dually beneficial to father and son, like the used Range Rover as well as the replacement of material items they lost during the fire.

O'Reilly blamed the sudden tragedy of losing half his family to the fire as the main reason Eduardo's parenting skills faltered.

"Unfortunately, after the tragedy, his parenting skills were suddenly being questioned and the custody of his one remaining child was taken away from him, compounding the tragedy," O'Reilly told the court.

In this photo is Noah Eduardo, the little boy at the center of this trial. His mother, Heather Marchie; his sister, Angelina Eduardo, 4 and his brother, Tubal Eduardo Jr. , 5 were all killed in the 2007 fire that gutted the family home in Manville, NJ

Eduardo was described by a former neighbor, Nora Sarceno, as a man who adored his family. They were "really nice people, who did everything together," Sarceno told the New York Daily News.

O'Reilly said Educardo, mired in a custody battle for his son with his maternal aunt, Nichole Latch, never received a copy of Judge Marino's court order about how the monies were to be handled.

"This fund was set up so that Mr. Eduardo and his son could somehow start all over again," O’Reilly said during her closing argument.

"This was not known as the Noah Eduardo College Fund. It was always the Eduardo Family Fund."

The trial began last week in Somerville with testimony from Detective Michael Schutta who testified how the funds were spent and Robert DiSanto, manager of the Bank of America branch in Somerville where Eduardo opened both accounts with the money collected by the Weston School Parent Teacher Association.

The organization’s president testified that donations poured in from around the country after news of the tragic fire that killed Eduardo’s girlfriend, 28-year-old Heather Marchie and his two children, Tubal Jr., 5, and Angelina, 4 spread.

The PTA raised $38,351.24 then wrote two checks, one for $5,000 for Eduardo and the rest in a check for Noah.

Fire officials say the March 2007 fire began near a five-outlet power strip, which appeared to be overloaded by several plugs that obliterated the two-story home on South Fifth Avenue in Manville.

Eduardo, who declined comment after the verdict, was allowed to remain free on bail until his May 28 sentencing when Superior Court Judge Paul Armstrong could sentence him to up to five years in prison.

The Freedom Tour In Atlanta

The Freedom Tour made it's stop in Atlanta last night with performances by Alicia Keys, Melanie Fiona and Robin Thicke. I'm hearing the show was great and had lots of celebs in the crowd from Whitney Houston, Tameka Raymond, Jermaine Dupri and Dondria just to name a few. Melanie Fiona opened up the show with Robin Thicke following right behind her. The main attraction, of course, was Ms. Alicia Keys...soon to be Mrs. Swizzy!! Check out some photos from the event below:

The Reason Behind Reggie & Kim's Breakup

So I'm going to believe what I'm hearing and say that it's official. The breakup between Reggie Bush and Kim Kardashian is real! Everyone seems to think the breakup had to do with Reggie Bush cheating but it had to do with a more deeper issue between the two stars. The issue at hand, according to X17Online.com, is that Reggie couldn't see himself commiting or better yet marrying a woman who had a sex tape. Now, call me crazy but I knew this from jump! No man wants to wife up a chick who has a sex tape number 1 and who is known to be passed around. I'm not saying Kim Kardashian has been passed around but I am speaking in general terms.

Jump offs seem to think they have the upper hand but in actuality ladies you're nothing but a fuck piece. No man in their right mind wants a wife who's a slut (unless it's with him only and behind closed doors) and no man wants to physically see that their woman was with another man!! It's that simple! Men are visual creatures....this is a proven fact.....so to them.....out of sight, out of mind. For example, a woman has children from a previous relationship and enters a new one. Her new man will not have a problem with the childrens father as long as things are respectful from all parties involved. Now let that new man see a sex tape of his new girl with her childrens father?!!!.......hmmm......he'll be heading for the door!! Plain and simple!! And while I think Kim Kardashian is getting the bad end of the stick, Ray J is coming out like a champ!! YOU HAVE JUST BEEN SCHOOLED!!

An off-duty NYPD officer found an elderly transit worker unresponsive on Seaman Avenue this morning. When EMS arrived, they pronounced the man, Patrick Renaghan, dead at the scene. Officials say Renaghan was on his way home after working an overnight shift when he collapsed near his Inwood home.
Renaghan, 71, worked for the New York City Transit Authority as a station cleaner and was, according to a Transit Union Official, the oldest worker the company had.
"He was one of our oldest workers," Maurice Jenkins, vice president of TWU Local 100 told the New York Post.
"It's not an easy job to do but he was doing it."
The off-duty officer found the man lying on the ground around 6:15 a.m. bleeding from a wound to the back of his head. He may have sustained the injury when he collapsed. Police believe he may have suffered a heart attack.
Renaghan was married but had no children. The New York City Medical Examiner's office is investigating his death.

Former Passaic County Undersheriff to Run Against Speziale

By Alicia Cruz
The Black Urban Times
Passaic has a new runner for Passaic County Sheriff and he's a familiar face in the law enforcemant arena. Felix Garcia, a former warden and Passaic County undersheriff, entered the Sheriff's race after the Passaic County regular Republican Organization nominated him last week.

Garcia once worked for his opponent Jerry Speziale and with no other GOP candidates having filed petitions to challenge Garcia during the Republican primary in June, it's likely he and Speziale will face-off at the November election.

Garcia says he plans to "streamline" the Sheriff's Department and reduce it's top-heavy budget, equipment and personnel numbers.

“”We’re spending too much money,” Garcia told the Record.

“Take a look at the parking lot of the Sheriff’s Department in Wayne. There are over 100 sheriff’s cars in the parking lot. There’s too much equipment and too much fat at the top.”
Speziale and Garcia have a tempestuous past stemming from Garcia's 2003 resignation which Speziale pushed for after allegations surfaced accusing Garcia of using jail inmates and county correctional officers to remodel his Wayne home.

No crimminal charges followed the allegations, but in 2004, Garcia filed a wrongful termination suit against Speziale seeking payment for back wages and reinstatement and back wages. That case was settled in 2008.

As part of the agreement, terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Garcia, however, did not get his job back and has since worked as a consultant for a private security firm, FJC Security Services in Jersey City.

The notion that a public employee could sue the government, then work out a “private” settlement that no ordinary citizen would be privy to enraged Right-to-Know advocates and prompted the state Legislature to take action. State Sen. Nia H. Gill (D-Essex) sponsored a bill in 2008 that prohibited public entities and their employees from keeping claims against them confidential. Any settlements would become a matter of public record.

Garcia said Monday that his settlement was worked out before the bill, and therefore it did not apply to him. Garcia won’t disclose the details of the settlement because he claims it would violate a court order.

“I believe the taxpayers have the right to know,” Garcia said. “But there was the court order and I am not allowed to discuss it.”

Garcia gave this assessment of his wrongful termination suit: “I didn’t win. I didn’t lose. The taxpayers lost.”

Bill Maer, a spokesman for Speziale, also declined to discuss the settement, citing the court’s gag order.

Speziale, a Democrat first elected in 2001 after Republican powerhouse Edwin Englehardt stepped down, has amassed a sizeable campaign warchest of $700,000. Garcia says he expects to be outspent by the incumbent, but that he’ll run harder.

“Money is not the object here,” Garcia said. “I’m going to bang on doors. I’ll be shaking hands and taking this election to the voters.”

Morristown Students to Face Criminal Charges in False Threats Cases

By Alicia Cruz
The Black Urban Times
A Morristown judge has found probable cause to pursue criminal charges against two Morristown High School students who have been accused of making verbal and written threats"In an instance of heightened security," said Superior Court Judge Michael Wright.

On March 11, one of the accused students wrote a threat against himself on the wall of the school bathroom, then alerted school officials to the threat.

Judge Wright ordered him to remain under house arrest and to seek a psychological evaluation. The judge did give the unidentified student permission to attend church with his mother and to return to school after serving a 10-day suspension.

On March 12, another student, of Morristown, was accused of yelling out the school's emergency code word twice. The code is intended to alert students and faculty to violence or shootings. He is facing an additional charge of violating his probation.

Patricia Kay, public defender for the student, who has a lengthy juvenile record, argued against criminal charges saying the student shouting out the code word was "something stupid’’ but did not cause harm. Assistant Morris County Prosecutor Samantha DeNegri disagreed and so did Judge Wright.

Wright found the actions of both students to be criminal considering the fact that the school was already reeling from written death threats that prompted police presence at the school and had faculty and their fellow students on edge.

The death threat, left at the Rockaway Townsquare mall on March 14 read, "30 people will get shot on March 15, 2010 at Morristown High School," prompted school officials to heighten school security.
Students were not allowed to enter their school until 6:30 a.m., could not leave the building during school hours and had to walk through metal detectors before entering the building.

That same week, another note found in the school bathroom threatened violence against students on March 29-30. Police have no suspects in either of those cases.

Both students have been charged with making false public alarms and are scheduled to return to court April 19.

Eleven teenagers and two adults were arrested after police executed a search warrant on a Boonton Turnpike house party and found a large amount of drug paraphernalia, cash and marijuana.

Borough Police Sergeant Michael Runfeldt would only tell the New Jersey Local News that the 6:45 p.m. search came as a result of an “intense" and "on-going” investigation.

Curtis A. Lugo, 19, of Lincoln Park was charged with possession of drugs with an intent to distribute. The other twelve suspects were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All were released pending court appearances scheduled for next month. Law enforcement from Pequannock and the Passaic County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit assisted the Borough police with the arrests and search.

Police will not reveal exactly how much drugs or money were found in the apartment because the case is still under investigation.

Montclair police say an employee at the New Golden River Chinese restaurant on Bloomfield Avenue set up a fellow employee to be robbed by having his girlfriend call in a fake food order so he could rob the deliveryman upon arrival.

Daniel Watson-Drakeford,22, has been charged with robbery after police say he accosted another employee of the Chinese restaurant at a home on Prospect Terrace around 11:15 p.m. as he was attempting to deliver the food order, punching him in the face and robbing him of $392.

The delivery driver, who was treated on the scene for minor injuries, later identified Watson-Drakeford despite the hood covering his face. The injured employee recognized Watson-Drakeford's voice and the clothing he was wearing, Detective Lt. Scott Buehler told the New Jersey News.

Watson-Drakeford's girlfriend, 21-year-old Stephanie Cerda of Hackensack was later arrested after she was identified as the woman who called in the fake food order.
Bail for the Chinese food robbing duo was set at $25,000 each.

Freedman's Bakery in Belmar has reopened after violations forced Monmouth County Health officials to shut it down Friday. The bakery reopened at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday morning to find several customers braving the inclement weather conditions just to have a cup of coffee and a bite to eat at the 7th Avenue landmark bakery.

Violations that forced the temporary closing of the bakery included no soap in restrooms, food debris and spillage in the entire bakery area, no person in charge of the kitchen area, severe rodent infestation and food in the customer area not sufficiently protected from contamination.
Monmouth County Health Coordinator Michael Meddis told News 12, "The perimeter of the building was not sealed to prevent rodent entry."

"I know they've (bakery employees) been working there all weekend. We'll have to look at all the violations and evaluate whether it is safe to open or not."

The Long Island "Bonnie and Clyde" duo are suspected of committing at least 11 armed robberies in the area with a BB gun that resembled a rifle and seemed to be targeting small businesses, said police.

Any thoughts on the new joint? I likey!

Who's Daughter Is This?!!

You know.....at first I wasn't even going to pay this young lady any attention. I thought she was someone who had really low self esteem and was looking for attention. I realize she's getting everything she deserves and wants. However, I think she's jumping into the wrong arena to put folks on blast. I mean, even Superhead had enough damn sense to not put people's phone numbers on blast!!! I mean dang!!! She put everyone's phone number on blast from Joe Budden (who she claims hacked her Twitter account), Nelly, Lil Wayne, Yung Berg, Jae Millz, Gudda Gudda and more!!! This is really going to be insane but one slight error was made. She gives out Lil Wayne's cell phone number and says you can call and ask him if she used to mess with him but isn't Weezy in jail?! I'm just saying!! Enjoy the phone number blast to some of your favorite Hip Hop artists below:

I'm sure most of the numbers by now have been changed but DAMN!!! Was it that serious ma? You run around proudly proclaiming all the men you have slept with and at some point you are going to grow up and want to settle down and be someone's wife....I pray for the soul who decides to do that.

My question to the masses is "Since when has snitching become the in thing to do"? I'm just saying!!

Jill Scott Graces Essence Magazine Cover

The lovely and talented, Jill Scott, is gracing the cover of Essence magazine for their May issue. In this issue, Ms. Scott addresses everything from her new music, new movie and being a single mom. Being a single mom is a job in itself so if a woman can find time to do more......I applaud! Sometimes I can't figure out how I do it. ;-) Anyway, Jill Scott was recently all over the internet due to some comments she made on interracial relationships and although my children are products of an interracial relationship I can understand where she's coming from. Most thought she was being racist but I didn't take her comments that way.

Here's what she had to say about the topic below:

My new friend is handsome, African-American, intelligent and seemingly wealthy. He is an athlete, loves his momma, and is happily married to a White woman. I admit when I saw his wedding ring, I privately hoped. But something in me just knew he didn’t marry a sister. Although my guess hit the mark, when my friend told me his wife was indeed Caucasian, I felt my spirit…wince. I didn’t immediately understand it. My face read happy for you. My body showed no reaction to my inner pinch, but the sting was there, quiet like a mosquito under a summer dress. Was I jealous? Did the reality of his relationship somehow diminish his soul’s credibility? The answer is not simple. One could easily dispel the wince as racist or separatist, but that’s not how I was brought up. I was reared in a Jehovah’s Witness household. I was taught that every man should be judged by his deeds and not his color, and I firmly stand where my grandmother left me. African people worldwide are known to be welcoming and open-minded. We share our culture sometimes to our own peril and most of us love the very notion of love. My position is that for women of color, this very common “wince” has solely to do with the African story in America. When our people were enslaved, “Massa” placed his Caucasian woman on a pedestal. She was spoiled, revered and angelic, while the Black slave woman was overworked, beaten, raped and farmed out like cattle to be mated. She was nothing and neither was our Black man. As slavery died for the greater good of America, and the movement for equality sputtered to life, the White woman was on the cover of every American magazine. She was the dazzling jewel on every movie screen, the glory of every commercial and television show. She was unequivocally the standard of beauty for this country, firmly unattainable to anyone not of her race. We daughters of the dust were seen as ugly, nappy mammies, good for day work and unwanted children, while our men were thought to be thieving, sex-hungry animals with limited brain capacity. We reflect on this awful past and recall that if a Black man even looked at a White woman, he would have been lynched, beaten, jailed or shot to death. In the midst of this, Black women and Black men struggled together, mourned together, starved together, braved the hoses and vicious police dogs and died untimely on southern back roads together. These harsh truths lead to what we really feel when we see a seemingly together brother with a Caucasian woman and their children. That feeling is betrayed. While we exert efforts to raise our sons and daughters to appreciate themselves and respect others, most of us end up doing this important work alone, with no fathers or like representatives, limited financial support (often court-enforced) and, on top of everything else, an empty bed. It’s frustrating and it hurts! Our minds do understand that people of all races find genuine love in many places. We dig that the world is full of amazing options. But underneath, there is a bite, no matter the ointment, that has yet to stop burning. Some may find these thoughts to be hurtful. That is not my intent. I’m just sayin’.

I totally understood her point of view and took no offense. I am not a white woman but I am Puerto Rican and have been victim to some stares and comments in my past. However, I don't deal with that anymore. Times have surely changed. But check out what Jill had to say about her own comments below:

Huffpost.com: Michael Steele Called Tone Deaf By GOP Brass, Urged To Resign--Thousands spent on Lesbian Themed Club!!!

In the world of politics, there was plenty of eye-rolling and mockery at reports that Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele spent lavishly on gratuitous and questionable expenditures in February.

For Republican donors and strategists, however, the revelation sparked yet another round in a lengthy debate over whether the rambunctious GOP leader really is the right fit for the party in the minority.

On Monday morning, the Daily Caller reported that the RNC spent thousands of dollars on high-end travel arrangements, swanky hotels and, most remarkably, "meals" at a lesbian-and-bondage-themed nightclub in West Hollywood. The latter expense, naturally, grabbed most of the attention and the cleverest of headlines -- prompting the RNC to simultaneously state that it would investigate the expenditures and that it wasn't Steele who went to the club.

For someone to just have had a baby last year, Kelis' body is INTACT!! And I don't know if anyone else noticed but is that Kelis' son in a nap sack on her back at the end of the video? Cute baby indeed!! Enjoy the video and dare to be different by clicking below:
