THE FORTUNE SOCIETY OPENS DOOR TO ECO-FRIENDLY, AFFORDABLE APARTMENT COMPLEX IN WEST HARLEM
Mayor Bloomberg Presents Apartment Keys to New Residents Including Formerly Incarcerated Individuals and Low Income Families
On Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will join JoAnne Page, President and CEO of The Fortune Society and Jonathan F.P. Rose, President of Jonathan Rose Companies in celebrating the grand opening of Castle Gardens, a 114-unit, eco-friendly apartment complex in West Harlem. The new $42 million building will offer permanent housing and support services for formerly incarcerated individuals and affordable apartments for members of the neighboring community.
Mayor Bloomberg will present apartment keys to new residents including formerly incarcerated individuals and low income families.
Also on hand at the grand opening will be Capital One Community Development Finance representatives, West Harlem residents and federal, state and local officials.
WHAT: The Fortune Society and Jonathan Rose Companies joined by hundreds of supporters and federal, state and local officials, will celebrate the opening of The Fortune Society’s new, green affordable housing project and service space in West Harlem. This 114-unit, 110,000-square-foot project brings affordable housing to the Harlem community and provides supportive permanent housing for formerly incarcerated homeless men and women.
