Touched by the circumstances and death of 5-year old Shaniya Davis, NBA star Shaquille O'Neal paid for the all of the funeral arrangements.
O'Neal, a father of five, did not disclose how much he paid for the services which were held Sunday at the Manna Church in Fayetteville, but did release this statement, "What happened to [Shaniya] was tragic. I wanted her to have a funeral that would be as beautiful as she was," O'Neal
said. A Cavaliers official did not return calls from The Associated Press early Thursday and The funeral home declined comment.
Bradley Lockhart said that the money Shaq had given has been put into a trust fund to pay for the girl's funeral and that the remaining money will be donated to a charitable cause.
CHILD FATALITY TASK FORCE TO INVESTIGATE FAYETTEVILLE DSS
On Monday, the North Carolina Child Fatality Task Force announced that it will review the Cumberland County Department of Social Services records to see what type of contact they may have had with Antoinette Davis and how often. Cumberland County DSS has declined to say what kind of involvement the agency had with Davis and her children.
On Friday, the director of the Cumberland County DSS, Brenda Jackson released a statement saying,....full story here
